NUOVA X
NUOVA X, a professional dance program organized and supported by NOD, under the artistic direction of Tom Weinberger, offers a unique and transformative experience for dedicated dancers seeking to refine their artistry and launch a professional career. Across three intensive sessions from September to June, participants immerse themselves in a focused exploration of contemporary dance.
Each session, a select group of international dancers works intimately with two renowned choreographers during five-week residencies. This immersive experience provides invaluable insight into diverse creative processes, fostering not only technical growth but also the essential collaborative skills vital to thriving in today's dynamic dance landscape.
NUOVA X prioritizes a deep and meaningful artistic journey. The program provides dedicated time for dancers to explore the methodologies and artistic visions of leading choreographers, encouraging them to push their boundaries, embrace vulnerability, and discover their unique artistic voice. We cultivate a supportive yet challenging atmosphere where growth is not just encouraged, it's expected.
Each creative process culminates in a studio Open Rehearsal, offering participants a valuable opportunity to share their evolving work with the community, marking a significant step in their artistic trajectory.

Please note: It will not be possible to switch choreographers or join a different group. Choreographers will be assigned according to the group currently open for registration.

Their first work together, the dance video “One More Song”, was presented in many exhibitions and screenings worldwide. Emilie Leriche is a freelance performer and creator based between Göteborg, Sweden and Paris, France. From 2017-2021 she danced with GöteborgsOperans Danskompani under the artistic direction of Katrín Hall. Prior to her move to Sweden, Leriche danced four seasons with Hubbard Street, where in 2015 she was awarded a Princess Grace Foundation fellowship in dance....

Roy Assaf is a mammal of the hominid family, belonging to the species Homo sapiens, although there are those who are convinced he possesses Neanderthal genes. He was born in 1982 in the rural community of Sde Moshe in a place that some call Israel, and some call Palestine. He broke his front tooth at the age of five while dancing on the slippery floor of his family home.
Andrea’s work has been presented internationally at major festivals and venues, including Curtain Up Festival, The Place London, and Zurich Tanzhaus, Aerowaves20. He has created commissioned works for companies such as Balletto di Roma, BTT, and Pollak Dance theater. Recent projects include Wild Thoughts (2022) for NDCWales, Life in Lycra (2023) for the Grand Opera Avignon, Animal In (2024) for the Bora Art Project in Seoul, BlauBart 2.0 (2025) for the MIR dance company in Germany...

Requirements:
To be a dance student aged 18 and up, with a strong contemporary and ballet technique, or professional dancer and teacher.
Fill out the google form by entering your cv and two separate links (only Vimeo or YouTube links no password will be accepted): one showcasing yourself in an improvisation session (1/2 minutes sharing your skills/virtuosity as dancer, working with a task to your choice, tapping into what moves you as a movement artist/ sharing where you currently are in your movement research) and one to two minutes of a set choreography (If sending a group footage please indicate which one of the dancers is you). All are welcome regardless of ethnicity, gender or sexual preference. Limited spots available.

You can split the payment of the total tuition in agreement with the administration.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
The program allows the opportunity to choose the length of your participation:

Schedule:

Ballet class every monday, wednesday, friday 9:00 am to 10:15 am
-
Session with the choreographer from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
Participants have the opportunity to enhance their experience by also joining the ICD - Contemporary Dance Program, held in the mornings. This program is highly complementary to NUOVA X and provides an enriching addition to their training.
Enrolling in both the ICD and Nuova X programs not only offers a more comprehensive training experience but also qualifies participants for a special discounted rate.
